Our Summer Music Series is back with more bands that will get you moving on our Patio this summer. We have 5 extraordinary groups set to tickle your ears, and a portion of the proceeds from each evening will be given to a chosen charity.

Every event is FREE, and the Inspiration Bar will be open to whet your whistle.

June 28th: Pete and the Stray Dogs, benefitting the Vilas County Humane Society

Pete and the Stray Dogs takes form as an acoustic duo, as an electric five piece, and everything in between. Lanctot’s narrative songwriting has been likened to artists such as The Carter Family, Townes Van Zandt and “a backwoods Nick Cave,” and is firmly rooted in blues, folk, country, and experimental music, offering pinhole views into the lives of characters that range from real to mythological.

Formed in 2012, Pete and the Stray Dogs is regularly touring throughout the United States and maintains an active performance schedule in New York and the Tri-State area.

July 14th: Jason Moon, benefitting Warrior Songs

Join us as Jason Moon graces us with a farewell concert and benefit for Warrior Songs. Jason is an Eagle River native and a veteran who is also a singer/songwriter, and he will be leaving soon to move with his family to Arizona.

“In 2011, Jason released Trying to Find My Way Home, an “accidental concept album” based on his own war experiences and on his attempts after his homecoming to regain the man he was before he was deployed. In Iraq he frequently performed for his fellow troops, but for over five years after his return in 2004 he was unable to finish more than a single song – despite songwriting once being his greatest joy in life.

Based on the success of TTFMWH in the veterans community, Jason started a new nonprofit, Warrior Songs, Inc., in 2012. Warrior Songs seeks to take the stories provided by veterans and honor them by setting them to music and turning them into songs.”

Warrior Songs: Volume 1 has had significant success and Jason is currently working on completing Warrior Songs second album titled, “Women at War: Volume 2” featuring the perspective of female veteran soldiers.

July 26th: Frogwater, benefiting the Great Headwaters Trail

Frogwater is the acoustic musical pairing of John and Susan Nicholson. Renowned for their musical virtuosity and exuberant live performances, they like to think of themselves as musical ambassadors, and describe their style as “eclectic acoustic Peoples’ music.” Their repertoire spans from Celtic to Delta Blues, Classical to Pop with a healthy dose of unique original material filling out the mix. Their innovative interpretations of traditional tunes span the centuries and the miles and defy categorization.

August 16: Koze League, benefitting The Warehouse’s Scholarship fund

The Koze League is a music collective founded in a basement in the Northwoods of Wisconsin, late in the winter of 2017. With a nod to the Swedish word, Koselig and the more widely known Danish concept of Hygge, The KozeLeague is all about sonic and aesthetic warmth, comfort and community; with their roots firmly planted in the coziest alternative and indie rock genres.

Founders, Rob and Kate Houle met in college while studying theater at University of Central Florida. They have been in various bands, toured and been on many adventures together. It all started when Kate sat in on bass for a few minutes in Rob’s college punk band, dirtyCANDY while the bassist went to relieve himself during a particularly long gig. When the couple moved to Austin, TX in the early 00’s they became the polished, yet sweaty, electro-dance-rock duo, Before Dawn and toured heavily making two albums and an EP along the way. Prior to relocating to Northern WI, Rob and Kate lived tiny in their 21ft. RV for over 4 years both in Austin and Los Angeles. In LA they started a more dynamic and raw rock band called JagLyonz, and recorded an EP (in their RV). They played around the local LA music scene with multiple rotating guest performers.

In addition to being a multi-instrumentalist and vocalist, Rob Houle is a prolific songwriter and composer who spent his time in Los Angeles composing music for television and film, and continues to do so from across the country. You can view his reel and music samples at RobHouleMusic.com.

September 8th: Big Road Band, Benefiting the Northland Pines Music Boosters

Big Road Band is comprised of Mark Zanoni, Michelle Zanoni, Pete Stoltman, Gerry Plank, and Shane Zanoni. They play a mixture of Blues, Soul/ R&B, Ragge and Rock with a motto of, “Feel good music… good for your body, good for your soul.” This Northwoods based band has been pleasing crowds for years.
