Create Sterling Silver & Copper Bi-level Necklace with Bead Accent!

  •  Dec 16, 2018
     1:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Learn how to make this funky and fun necklace with instructor Trista Langley-Tyler! This 25-inch sterling silver necklace sports handmade copper accents which can be completed with a number of different finishes and surface patterns and a beaded accent.

In this class, you will get information about your tools, how tools affect the metals you are working on and the properties of the metal itself.  You will get to choose your surface pattern (hammered vs clean?  Fire-colored vs raw?) and the finish for all components, choose your bead from a selection of semi-precious gems and crystals of a variety of sizes, learn how to properly use a disc cutter and how to fabricate components such as jump rings, which cost many times more when bought finished from a supplier than when made by you.  Techniques learned in this class can be carried over to any number of at-home projects with a minimal number of tools required. This class is great for anyone with good manual dexterity, age 13 and up.  If you have a favorite set of pliers, feel free to bring them!

Cost:

  • $40 registration*
  • *$30 materials fee payable to Trista the day of class (includes a 24” sterling silver chain, sterling silver clasp, bead, all sterling silver components, and 2 copper components).
