The Warehouse Art Center is excited to announce our second annual Handmade Holiday series. In December we offer unique classes that can add a special touch to your gift giving treasure trove. Many of our classes allow adults and children to attend together, allowing you to make memories and give gifts with personal touches.

Ceramic Ornaments with Sam Martinez

December 2, 10am-1pm

Create special family heirloom ornaments this holiday! No previous experience with clay necessary. Each participant can make up to five different ornaments to be ready in time for gift-giving.

All ages are welcome – children under 10 must be accompanied by an adult.

COST: $50 per participant includes clay, glazing, and firing of all ornaments.

Starburst Bracelet with Lisa Kraus

December 2, 2-4pm

In this class, you will learn beading techniques and bring home a starburst pattern bracelet

AGE: 13 and up (children between the ages of 10 and 13 are welcome if they are accompanied by an adult)
COST: $25 (additional pieces may be made for a small fee, if time allows)

Cranberry Holiday Garlands with Sam Martinez

December 3, 1-4pm
Using local organic cranberries, birch bark beads, and Wisconsin grown popcorn, we will create some truly beautiful, traditional, and environmentally conscious decorations for the holiday season. Sip on some spice-mulled apple cider while we spend time creating garlands and talking about options and ideas for handmade gifts for the holidays.

All ages are welcome – children under 10 are free, but must be accompanied by an adult.

COST: $25 per participant/$40 for 2 participants

Make It/ Take It: Plate and Platter Painting with Ryan Doberstein 

December 9, 10-11:30am

 Join The Warehouse staff in creating a festive holiday platter to use over the holidays, or give as a gift! There are a few shapes and sizes to choose from. The cost of the class includes the basic platter- there’s a slight charge if you would like to use a larger dish or do multiple pieces! Pieces will be glazed during class, and then fired and ready for pick up at a later date.

COST: $25

AGE: 10 and up

Paper Marbling with Ryan Doberstein

December 9, 1-2:30pm

Explore the centuries old tradition of aqueous surface design, transforming plain paper into colorful, marble patterns. Participants will learn the step by step technique and produce several marbled papers, suitable for bookbinding, holiday decorations, gift cards, and more!

COST: $15 includes materials and 5 sheets of paper (additional paper will be available for a small fee)

AGE:This class would be open to all ages, (children 5-10 with adult supervision).

Holiday Cookie Decorating with Dottie Reeder

December 10, 1-3:30pm
This fun-filled holiday cookie decorating class will introduce you to creative, artistic ideas for decorating Christmas cookies from the loveliest to the most colorful.  Each student will be provided with 6 cookies to decorate using a variety of techniques, including making and coloring frosting , flooding, icing the cookies, making fondant, and “painting” using food coloring.

COST: $15

AGE: 7-12

Zen Doodle Ornaments with Cathy Calvetti

December 16, 10am-12pm

Learn the basics steps to make and take home a Zen Doodle ornament. We’ll supply enough materials for everyone to make up to 3 ornaments. This class is great for any skill level – if you can doodle, you can do this! While this class is suited for ages 10 and up, we ask that young students be accompanied by an adult.  Register by December 14th!

COST: $15 per student (all supplies included)

AGE: 10 and up (children ages 8-9 welcome if accompanied by an adult)

Sterling Silver Stamped Earrings with Trista Langley-Tyler

December 17, 12-2pm

In this class, Instructor Trista Langley-Tyler will take students step-by-step through creating their own pair of delicate, stamped Sterling Silver disc earrings, perfect to give as a Holiday gift or keep for yourself!  The design can be altered according to student preferences (beads or no, different sizes, colors and shapes, etc) and Trista will provide a variety of design stamps for students to use.  This is a no-solder process which can be done at home with a minimum of equipment needed!

COST: $40 (additional pair of earrings can be made for $10)

AGE: 10 and up
