Warehouse Artists start Happiness Bird Project
The Warehouse Community Arts Center has begun a new project to bring happiness to the Eagle River community and beyond. Inspired by a similar project in Colorado, Artist Bonnie Grebner along with Lisa Opfer decided to bring a flock of Happiness Birds to Eagle River, creating over 50 beautifully decorated ceramic birds. The goal of the project is to connect others in the Northwoods community and to bring happiness to each other during this time of hardship for many, while also gaining exposure and resources for The Warehouse Arts Center. The birds have been scattered throughout Eagle River in various locations, including local businesses, restaurants, and sidewalks. People who encounter a Happiness Bird are encouraged to take it home for a period of time, keep it, or return it to a new home so that it may bring joy to someone else. A flock of Happiness Birds can also be found at The Warehouse, 107 S. Railroad St. There is no price for the birds, but donations of your choice are welcome. Donations can be made online at eagleriverart.com, or by mail to The Warehouse Arts Center, P.O. Box 685, Eagle River WI 54521.
