Learn to Paint in acrylics! (3-week class)
Dates: Tuesdays May 4, 11, 18
Time: 5:00-8:00pm
Cost: $100/participant
Instructor: Betsy Popp
This is a 3 week session. 3 hours per session.
Included in this class this 9 hours of instruction is a 12×16 canvas and all your painting supplies.
Week 1: Discuss formatting, types of canvas, intro to acrylics, colors and mixing colors, painting on a colored background, brushes, and brush care. Color background, grid canvas and reference, lay in major shapes. Discuss bringing in a personal reference
Week 2: Finish up work on initial painting. Go over personal reference and choose an image to start another painting.
Week 3: Finish up second painting. Discuss framing options and sealer.
Meet the instructor:
Betsy has been creating and teaching art all of her professional career spanning over 30 years. She owns and operates a working art studio and gallery in Townsend, WI, where she lives. She works in a variety of mediums including oils, acrylics, wood carving, wood burning, graphite, pastels, and ceramics.She received her Masters of Fine Art through the Academy of Art University, San Francisco. Taught through Northeast Wisconsin Technical College and currently teaches in the Art Department at Nicolet College.
