Artist Spotlight Reception for Todd Schroeckenthaler

The Warehouse Community Arts Center features monthly Artist Spotlight Exhibitions to bring recognition and exposure to rising and established artists selected to share their stories, creative efforts, and inspirations surrounding being an artist in the Northwoods. February’s Artist Spotlight shines on local photographer/musician, Todd Schroeckenthaler.

Growing up in Milwaukee, Todd felt fortunate to spend summers in the tiny, unincorporated burg of Clearwater Lake. Todd’s mother was from Clearwater Lake, and his father from nearby Three Lakes, where his grandparents owned and operated Pop’s Pine Resort on the shores of Virgin Lake. In the mid-60s, his parents bought a cottage on the largest navigable chain in the world, on Planting Ground Lake. He spent his summers there with his grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins nearby. He recalls long summer days swimming, boating, and canoeing with his pup, Sporty, as his first mate. Daily activities included riding endlessly on bicycles with cousins through forested back roads past the numerous lakes and rivers. Todd worked for many years as a graphic designer and art director, both for industry as well as an entrepreneur. He moved to the Northwoods full-time in 2016, making his family’s three-season cottage his year-round home. Having raised four boys along the Milwaukee River in Glendale, Wisconsin, Todd loves living and playing in, on, and by the water. He feels grateful to have lived along the shores for most of his life. He feels as deeply rooted on the lake in the Wisconsin Northwoods, not far from the shores of Lake Superior, as he does in its southeastern urban core, on the river, and near the shores of Lake Michigan. The public is invited to become an observer/participant in Todd’s photographic journey and witness how he draws his photographic inspiration from his passion for Wisconsin and the Upper Midwest.

Todd’s Artist Spotlight Exhibition opened on February 1st and will remain on display through the end of the month. The community is invited to attend Todd Schroeckenthaler’s Artist Reception on Friday, February 9^th, from 5:30-7pm. Don’t miss this opportunity to meet this multi-talented Three Lakes artist!
