Arts on Tap: The Quilt Makers of Gee’s Bend Film

     7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

As we celebrate Quilts, Mending and Stitching this month, Arts on Tap features a special screening of the documentary film, The Quilt Makers of Gee’s Bend.

This uplifting, Emmy-winning PBS film tells the modern-day “Cinderalla” story of the quiltmakers of Gee’s Bend, Alabama. Artists born into extreme poverty, they live to see their quilts hailed by a The New York Times art critic as “some of the most miraculous works of modern art America has produced.”

This free offering is co-sponsored by the Walter E. Olson Memorial Library and WXPR public radio. Beverages will be available for purchase from the Inspiration Bar.
