Hanging Bird Baths and Feeders (4-week class)

In this class students will learn how to make slab built bird baths or birdfeeders using slump and hump mold techniques. Various surface decoration techniques will be discussed including using stamps, textures, and underglazes.

Week 1: Making and texturing bird baths and feeders

Week 2: Finishing and underglazing

Week 3: Glazing

Week 4: Installing hanging mechanisms

Students will learn how to operate the slabroller, apply textures, use slump molds, install a variety of hanging options, finishing techniques, and apply underglazes.
