These pottery rainsticks are a hollow tube partially filled with small crumbles of clay. There are small clay baffles arranged helically on its inside surface. When the stick is upended, the crumbles fall to the other end of the tube, making a sound reminiscent of falling rain.

Experience with clay is recommended.
