Dates: September 15 and October 6 (2-week class)

Class 1: Creating your platter with clay

Class 2: Glazing your platter

We will make a slab large enough to fit a mold. Then we will use the texture of a finely crocheted spiderweb circle to print it into the clay. The spider and handles will be sculpted and attached to the platter.

During the second class, we will inlay glaze into the texture, then glaze the spider and handles. Lastly, the platter will be glazed in a translucent glaze to show off the spiderweb texture.

This class is recommended for ages 14 and up. No previous experience with clay required.

Each person will create one platter, approximately 9 inches in diameter. 3 lbs of clay per person.
