Additions/Subtractions Workshop with Amy Higgason: Sept 21-22

Additions and Subtractions: a Clay Workshop for Intermediate Students

“Additions” covers different ways to make handles, knobs and spouts. Adding clay sprig patterns as a decorative element will also be covered.

“Subtractions” will cover cutting into forms to create decorative rims and altering the shape of a wheel thrown piece. Carving techniques tying in the knobs and handles, etc. (made in the “Additions” portion of the workshop) will also be discussed,.

Students may take either workshop or both. Cost is 50.00 per session or $90.00 for both.

Classes meet from 10 to 3 with demos from 10 to 12:30, a half hour for lunch and then work time from 1 to 3. Students should bring their own clay and leather hard pieces to add and subtract on.

Hand builders are welcome.
