This is a two-day class
Prerequisite:
Students need to have at least an intermediate level of wheel throwing and/or slab building.
Class 1
Students will be guided through coloring clay with mason stains (including safety instructions). The instructor will show students various colored clay projects including wheel thrown and hand-built pottery. Students will have the opportunity to create colored clay pottery. Commercial celadon glazes will be discussed.
Class 2
Bisque-fired pottery will be glazed with clear and celadon glazes. The warehouse has both a shiny and a matte clear glaze available. Celadons need to be purchased by students.
Johanna has over 30 years of experience as a therapist, administrator, and trainer working with survivors of war including refugees, torture survivors, development workers, and veterans in the Netherlands, the Philippines, Sri Lanka, and the US. She has written and presented extensively about her work.
Cancellation policy:
Class fees must be paid at the time of registration.
Full refunds or credits will be issued in the event a class or workshop is cancelled.
You must cancel a minimum of a week prior to the class or workshop in order to receive a 75% refund or 100% credit towards a future class.
No refunds or credits will be made for cancelling within a week of the first day of the class or workshop.
