SUMMER ART CAMP: CREATE!

Grades 5-8
At The Warehouse in Eagle River, WI
June 18 – 22, 9:30 – noon
Join The Warehouse for a week-long arts emersion for students ages 5th-8th (accepting students entering into the grade for the fall).
Day 1: Cupcake Sculptures. The purpose of this lesson is to expose middle schoolers to the work of pop artist and get them considering the relationship between material and finished piece, specifically unexpected materials. Instructor Mrs. Norma.
Day 3: Impressionism and Mosaics. The purpose of this lesson is to expose middle schoolers to the work of Impressionist, learn some general information about the movement, and create two pieces using clay, stones, texture tools and paint. Instructor Mrs. Norma.
Days 2, 4, and 5: Clay Works! Learn to manipulate clay into pinch pots, add coils and texture and join pieces of clay. Pieces will be fired and students will learn how to glaze. Students will be able to work on individual projects. Instructor Artist John Langer
On Friday at 11:30 we’ll have a short exhibition of the students work before they leave for the week!
