Meet the instructor:

Marla Mahkimetas is Kaeyas Mamaceqtaw (“The Ancient Ones” or “Kaeyas Mamaceqtawak” [Algonquin Language]) from the Menominee Nation of Wisconsin. She has been weaving baskets for a few decades and now finger woven bags. Marla is a grandmother of seven working on her Doctorate in First Nations Education. She is also a professional dancer performing around the world with various dance companies from NY to CA. Marla is always honored to share story, knowledge, and her culture.
