Pinch Pots and Place Bowls – This class is inspired by the book, Finding One’s Way with Clay, by Paulus Berensohn. Berensohn is the featured artist in the film To Spring from the Hand which will be shown at The Warehouse for Arts on Tap on June 16. The Walter E. Olson Memorial Library is co-sponsoring this class.
Debbie Jircik will guide you as you explore creating in clay with the pinch pot. Begin with some warm up exercises that Debbie learned from a week with Paulus, make marks and textures as you get to know this tactile material, and then make your pinch pot. You are invited to bring something – a leaf, a stick, a stone, et al, – that represents your place to press into the clay – and we will also have objects to share.
Class fee includes all supplies and firing of your pinch pot. A special drawing will take place for five lucky participants who will be given the class free of charge!
