This class will explore different plates and platters. Students with wheel throwing skills can use a combination of altered wheel thrown forms and hand-built components. Other students will hand-build their plates and platter with slabs and coils.
Wheel throwers need to be comfortable with centering 4 lbs of clay. There are no pre-requisites for hand building students, but it would be helpful for hand building students to have basic skills such as slab-building, coil-building, scoring and slipping.
This is a 4-session series with instructor Johanna Buwalda.
