Stained Glass w/ Mary Tyler

Mondays July 15 & 22

2:30-5pm

$75

Join our resident stained glass teacher, Mary Tyler, for a two day stained glass workshop. Learn how to cut, grind, and solder stained glass while creating a beautiful sun catcher. Choose between a variety of patterns and colors. Perhaps a chirping bird, the buzz around a honeycomb, a crackling fire, the aww of a sunset, a crunchy leaf, or the whisper of a feather. Students will go home with the finished project. Students of all experience levels, absolute beginner to advanced, are welcomed.

There will be six stained glass classes in total during Hearing Our Northwoods programming, and students are welcome to register for multiple, and can do a different pattern each time.

Our 2024 program, Hearing Our Northwoods, aims to expand and deepen the connections established over the last three summers, using the arts to promote cross-cultural education, conversation, conservation, and respect for community, local history, tradition, and environment. The goal of the public exhibit and related programming is to spur new ways of listening to and hearing our Northwoods, thereby cultivating an appreciation for the uniqueness and majesty of our local context while prompting us to continue to nurture the diverse and valuable treasures found here.

This class is partially funded by a grant received from the Wisconsin Arts Board.
