Intermediate and advanced students and studio members

Sundays, May 16, May 23 and June 6
(3 session class)
Time: 12:00-4:00pm
Price: $130

This class is for students who are comfortable making their own wheel thrown or hand built work and want to explore new ways to decorate it. Each class includes two hours for teacher demos and two hours for hands on work and individual instruction. May 16th will focus on making stamps and sprigs and the various ways you can use them on work. We will also look at unconventional clay tools that I use to make marks. May 23rd will focus on using slips and underglazes. I will discuss sgraffito, inlay, transfer, layering, etc. Students will also be encouraged to share techniques and products they have been successful with. June 6th will include a demo on decorative trimming for the wheel people and a demo on hand building using pottery forms and templates for those who hand build. We will also see the results of your stamp making and have a critique of work you have in progress.

Max of 6 students.

This class fee does not include clay. Students will bring their own clay to work with in class. You are encouraged to purchase clay from the Warehouse if needed. Please keep in mind pieces made with clay not purchased through the Warehouse can not be fired there.
