Talking Stick Making Class

  •  August 12, 2021
     10:30 am - 12:30 pm

Dick Mindykowski teaches a family class on creating and using talking sticks.

Date: Thursday, August 12

Time: 10:30am-12:30pm

Cost: $10 / person

In Native American tradition, the person who holds the talking stick is acknowledged to speak and to be heard by others without interruption. The materials used to create talking sticks represent elements of earth’s “4 orders” sourced from plant, animal and human essence (one’s inner artist). Join Artist and Lac Courte Oreilles tribal member Dick Mindykowski, who will instruct students how to create and decorate their unique talking stick. Supplies included.

This class is part of our Connect to the Northwoods programming.
“Connect to self, to species, through culture, through time…”
