Come join us after school from 4-5 pm to have fun journal writing, yes, hopefully, fun! (Here’s a journaling secret -you DO NOT need to pay attention to spelling, grammar, or punctuation!) Each Wednesday afternoon we will learn about and practice at least two different journaling techniques to help you become more aware of the world around you, record fond memories of time with friends and family, and express feelings through an art journaling technique.
Please bring a favorite journal, diary or a notebook, if you already have one. Composition notebooks are available for $2 each if you need one. Also, bring your favorite pen, pencil and/or gel pens.
I look forward to teaching these skills that will benefit you for a lifetime with regular practice.
Your facilitator, Kathy Holperin, has over 25 years of journaling experience and wants to share with others the benefits of using the various techniques. Because of Kathy’s great passion for journaling, she opted to become a certified facilitator of the Journal to the Self® methods through the Center for Journal Therapy. Expressive writing techniques have helped her in her relationships, given her clarity on next steps in her work life and are a great tool as she pursues writing her memoir. Kathy has lived in Eagle River for most of her life. She dabbles in a wide variety of hobbies and activities such as writing, photography, knitting, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, kayaking, and traveling with her husband, Mark. They especially enjoy visiting their awesome adult children and their families.
