Watercolor Landscapes – great for absolute beginners all the way to intermediate watercolorists, this three week session will prepare you to paint on your own and build your skills.
Overview of 3- weeks course-
Day 1:  Review washes, brush strokes, atmospheric skies, and how to differentiate foreground/midground/background in terms of color, brush strokes and value.
Day 2: Painting trees in landscapes: pencil sketching, colors, values, brushes and brush strokes, skills such as scumbling, and adding trees to landscapes in foreground, mid- and background.
Day 3: Levels of detail and more on values in watercolor landscapes, adding animal shapes or simple figures to the painting.
Supplies: please bring along the following,
– 140 lb 100% cotton paper (about 6 sheets of 9×12 or close to this size. Bahong, Arches, New York Central, etc. are brands on Amazon to explore).
– One large and one small round brush with a fine tip and/ or a liner brush, large flat brush (1”).
-Watercolor paints, student grade is fine (red, yellow, blue, ivory black or Payne’s gray, and any other colors desired)  in either tubes or pans.  We will mix colors as needed
The Warehouse will provide tape, boards, spray bottles, etc. If needed to purchase watercolor paper at the Warehouse, please bring cash day of.

 

Bio:
Jeanne is a retired college professor from VA.  She and her husband divide their time between the Shenandoah Valley and the Northwoods. In Eagle River she paints with the Warehouse watercolor group and is a member of the Shenandoah Valley Watercolor Society.


Cancellation policy:
Class fees must be paid at the time of registration.
Full refunds or credits will be issued in the event a class or workshop is cancelled.
You must cancel a minimum of a week prior to the class or workshop in order to receive a 75% refund or 100% credit towards a future class.
No refunds or credits will be made for cancelling within a week of the first day of the class or workshop.

A $5 processing fee will be applied to online refunds.
