I have been interested in art and artists my whole life. I began painting as a young girl. After careful planning and positioning I decide on a composition to be incorporated onto my wheel thrown and/or hand-built stoneware objects. How my lines and objects interrelate on the picture plane is just as essential as the subject I’m depicting. My images are a quiet glimpse into the spaces that are meticulously arranged. I invite my viewers to look in.
I am an artisan that makes quality, distinctive product in small quantities, using traditional methods and materials. Without the ability to actualize an idea or concept, art wouldn’t exist. My work is a constant search for the best ways to interpret the ideas I have about myself and the world I live in. I do not limit myself to one style or concept. Inspiration and ideas change. Knowledge changes.
I regularly have taken pottery classes for the past 3 years. I exhibit my work at the Art Center in Eagle River, WI. I teach beginning pottery and several subject specific clay classes as well.
