In this session of After School Art, we will explore printmaking!

April 23: Four Panel Story Prints with Ryan Doberstein

Using sequential art, such as comic books and graphic novels as a guide, students will use styrofoam sheets and ballpoint pens to produce a background plate and numerous smaller character and object plates, which will then be printed on one large sheet to tell a story in four panels.

April 30: Creative, Unique Prints with Cathy Calvetti

We will create a variety of prints using household items like plastic cutting boards, plastic bags, pie plates.

May 7 & 14: Gelli Plate Printing with Norma Dycus Pennycuff

In the first session, students will explore positive and negative space as well as color mixing on our printmaking plate. In the second session, students will use the papers created to learn more about color mixing and layering effects. If time allows, students will explore printmaking with sandpaper – a project easy to try at home with friends and family.

May 21: Found Object Gyotaku Collagraphs with Ryan Doberstein

Inspired by Gyotaku, the Japanese tradition of printing fish, students will use paper board and various found objects to create plates in the form of sea creatures and print them on paper.

Cost: $75 (includes all materials, snacks, and transportation)

Please join us for the free, family-friendly exhibit held May 25th, from 5-7pm!

We're sorry, but all tickets sales have ended because the event is expired.
