Arts on Tap! The Sewing Machine Project: Mending Communities

  •  July 28, 2016
     7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

From Sri Lanka to New Orleans in the wake of Hurricane Katrina, to war torn Kosovo to the inner city of Los Angeles, The Sewing Machine Project has gathered and distributed over 1800 sewing machines to those whose lives could be impacted by this important tool. Working locally, nationally and internationally, The Madison, Wisconsin-based SMP continues to be a voice of hope and community, creativity and peace.  A conversation with founder Margaret Jankowski will be held, co-presented at The Warehouse with the Olson Memorial Library.

No reservations necessary, and our bar will be open for the purchase of beverages.

If you’re inspired by this conversation, sign up for our Saturday morning  (July 30th- 9am-3pm) workshop with Margaret Jankowski to delve further into the Art of Mending. More information found here or on our calendar of events.
