A special offering to celebrate National Poetry Month with special guest instructor, Rhinelander poet Brent Goodman. Discover the joy and craft of writing Haiku, the ancient Japanese-inspired poetic form taking the world by storm. In this hands-on introductory workshop, you’ll learn the secrets to sketching daily mindfulness meditations in short, imagistic verses of 3 lines or less. Whether you’re new to creative writing, or looking to hone your poetic skills, this casual group writing experience will give you the footing to take your artistic side to the next level.
Rhinelander poet Brent Goodman has published over 150 haiku in 33 journals and anthologies since he began writing exclusively in the form back in 2013. Prior to that, he published two full-length poetry collections, The Brother Swimming Beneath Me (2009 Black Lawrence Press) and Far From Sudden (2013 Black Lawrence Press), and two chapbooks, Trees Are the Slowest Rivers (1998 Sarasota Poetry Theatre) and Wrong Horoscope (1999 Thorngate Road), which won the Frank O’Hara Award.
