Youth Homeschool Spring 2026
Ages 7-14
3 week session
Wednesdays April 1-15

Children will have a wonderful time exploring visual arts through paint- watercolor and acrylic, and will study a different theme each week during this three session class, including plein air, portraiture, and abstract painting. They’ll learn how to mix colors and layer paint while being creative.
*** Children must be able to work in the room without parent/guardian there and able to follow instructions/directions***
Teacher Bio
Sarah S. Thompson: Artist, Teacher Graphic Designer
My name is Mrs. Thompson, and I’m so excited to share fun art tips and tricks with you—things most
kids don’t get to learn until they’re much older! I believe kids your age are full of “pure imagination,” and
with a little guidance, you can create amazing, magical art.
I make art through painting, collage, assemblage (turning old stuff into cool creations!), and even using
a computer. I’ve loved art since I was your age. Being an artist isn’t hard, but learning the rules and
techniques helps you make art without frustration. I have experience teaching children at ArtStart and The Discovery
Center, substitute teaching at AV-W School in Woodruff, and working at Dillman’s Art Workshop Retreat.
I’m excited to guide these bright young minds on their artistic journey!
Cancellation policy:
Class fees must be paid at the time of registration.
Full refunds or credits will be issued in the event a class or workshop is cancelled.
You must cancel a minimum of a week prior to the class or workshop in order to receive a 75% refund or 100% credit towards a future class.
No refunds or credits will be made for cancelling within a week of the first day of the class or workshop.
