For beginners to intermediate wheel throwers, this month long course will help take your pottery skills to the next level. Includes 12 hours of instruction, a 25 lb bag of clay, glaze and firings, and January Open Studio access. (And bonus, you can stay after class and continue working during Tuesday Open Studio)
Beginners will learn the basics of wheel throwing, intermediate students will refine skills.
Week One : Basics of the Wheel. Throwing cylinders, pulling out bottom weight.
Week Two : Throwing bowls and plates, and trimming.
Week Three : Work day, pulling handles
Week Four : Glazing
*Intermediate students, this will be run like a one room school house; if you have any specific skills you’d like to learn or get tips on, please let the instructor know.
Instructor Bio: McCall is a mom of two young kiddos, the Warehouse’s Marketing Director, and an avid oil painter and ceramist in her free time, creating usually weird and whimsical surrealist portraits. She got her degree in ceramics from UW-Madison and was a high/middle school art teacher in Colorado before moving to the Northwoods.
Cancellation policy:
Class fees must be paid at the time of registration.
Full refunds or credits will be issued in the event a class or workshop is cancelled.
You must cancel a minimum of a week prior to the class or workshop in order to receive a 75% refund or 100% credit towards a future class.
No refunds or credits will be made for cancelling within a week of the first day of the class or workshop.
A $5 processing fee will be charged for refunded classes.
