Teresa Keele Bio pdf

Teresa Keele, (Lake Havasu City, Az.) Began her journey into clay in 1996 at Northland Pioneer
Community College in the White Mountains of Arizona on a whim. Immediately and thoroughly entranced by clay, she took every class available, from every instructor they had. Teresa has received many accolades, both artistically and scholarly which provided a pathway in successfully obtaining both her Bachelor of Fine Art, as well as her master’s from Arizona State University. Teresa’s ceramic artworks have been presented in many local, state, and national jury art shows, winning several placements and merit awards. Today Teresa teaches fine arts at the community college as well as in her private studio in Lake Havasu City.

During her 30 years in ceramics, Teresa has delved into many technical and stylistic pottery creations, but she has been always drawn to the natural world, especially the animals that inhabit our planet. Their variety in color, textures, forms, and personalities invite us to discover the uniqueness and exquisite beauty of our planet and the life is. By taking the raw clay and molding, carving, smoothing, roughing the material, you become very intimate with the creature, uncovering not only obvious traits, but discovering and capturing the distinctiveness of the creature.
